Wicklow PURE Miles on Camera

Produced this year to celebrate five years of the PURE Mile project it gives a whistle stop tour of the ‘miles’ in the following places (in albhabetical order) Annamoe , Arklow , Aughrim, Ashford , Askanagap , Avondale , Ballinamanogue/Mullins , Ballycoog , Ballymanus , Ballinglen , Blainroe , Blessington , Castletimon, Conary , Crossbridge , Dunganstown , Glenasmole , Glenealy , Hillbrook , Killinure , Macreddin , Old Town Derralossary , Roundwood , The Old Road (Mullinacuffe,Ballynultagh & Stranakelly).

The PURE Mile is an initiative of the PURE project that encourages   communities all over county Wicklow to get involved in looking after a one mile stretch of their local area. Each mile is then entered to the annual PURE mile competition with prizes awarded under headings such as natural and built heritage, litter free miles and community effort. The initiative is a great way of harnessing local goodwill and of raising awareness of the wonderful plants, wildlife, history, stories and heritage along the rural highways and byeways of county Wicklow.
