Looking to the past to create a more resilient future
National Heritage Week 2022 runs from Sat 13th August until Sunday 21st August with events happening in every county of Ireland over nine days. Check out the projects and events for County Wicklow and help us celebrate Our Wicklow Heritage .
In-person event and digital project organisers have responded with enthusiasm to this year’s theme of sustainability and biodiversity, creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds from accross Ireland to learn more about our built, cultural and natural heritage, helping to ensure its preservation and protection in the future.
The Heritage Council is calling on heritage newcomers, enthusiasts and experts alike to consider how they might promote sustainability in their own lives during Heritage Week and beyond.
This year, in the interests of sustainability we are refraining from producing the usual printed brochure for Wicklow and instead are directing audiences to the excellent website;
www.heritageweek.ie
Here users can browse events by county, theme, or date and can click on the ‘Hearts’ to create and share their own bespoke Events Trail.
