Introduction to Family History Talks

Series of free online genealogy talks with expert genealogist Fiona Fitzsimons (Irish Family History Centre, Trinity College Dublin) and Declan Brady (Irish Family History Centre, NUI Maynooth), beginning Thursday 11th February at 7pm.

Each class will introduce a major source:

  • Thursday 11th Feb: Census Records (Fiona Fitzsimons)
  • Thursday 18th Feb: Civil Records (Declan Brady)
  • Thursday 25th Feb: Church records (Fiona Fitzsimons)
  • Thursday 4th March; Land records (Declan Brady)
  • Thursday 11th March: Printed sources (Fiona Fitzsimons)
  • Thursday 18th March: Burials and wills (Declan Brady)

The talks will explore what records are available, what evidence they have relevant to your family history, where there are gaps in the records and what sources that we can substitute to bridge these gaps.
