The Roundwood & District Historical Society was founded over 30 years ago and each year produces an annual journal. Whether you are a local or a visitor to the area, each journal is full of rich treasures to help you appreciate and cherish more our wonderful local heritage. Indeed, if you are an exile reading it in foreign places, our Journal may even bring you close to home. In keeping with the year that’s in it, the 2020 journal was launched online by Wicklow poet Jane Clarke. Click on the video to find out more and to hear Jane recite one of her works ‘The pit ponies of Glendassan’ part of her collection on the mining heritage of nearby Glendalough.
