Wicklow Town - Heritage Guide (December 2022)
The latest Heritage Guide from Archaeology Ireland (Dec. 2022) features Wicklow Town. Authored by Graeme Warren, this colourful supplement describes the historical and archaeological sites of interest in Wicklow Town. This guide is part of a project supported under the Community Monuments Fund 2021 in association with the Heritage Office of Wicklow County Council, to raise awareness of the heritage of Wicklow’s county town. Another aspect of this project involved the production of an interpretation sign located along the east bank of the riverwalk opposite the site of the ‘Round Mound’.
These and other sites described in the guide are only a part of the heritage of Wicklow, which includes many fascinating buildings and features. Wicklow Town’s heritage is presented to the public in a range of information boards and a heritage trail with specially commissioned videos and is well worth checking out on the website www.WicklowTown.ie
The Wicklow Town Heritage Guide will be of interest to school pupils, local people and visitors and we are pleased to make it available to pick up FREE of charge from Wicklow Libraries Local Studies in Wicklow Town
