Glen Heste PURE Mile 2016

The mile begins at the junction of N81-R759, The Lamb and ends at the junction of R759-L4372.

The aim of the group was to research the heritage along the mile and to conduct litter picks.

In their report they list some well known sites together with some lesser known and giving a brief description and photographs of these. Also mentioned are the flora and fauna along the mile. The sites listed include the Brickworks, Rose Cottage, Brittas River, the Forge, the well, the Inch, Scots pine wood, the Long Wall, and the Glen Heste Hotel.

Winner of The Best Social Heritage Award.
