The community of Kiltegan took it upon themselves to clean up many roads this year as part of their ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign. These included the following:

Ballinroan/Spinans – English Town/Talbetstown Loop/Woodfield Glen/ Woodfield – Knockavurrig/Graigue Cross/Kelsha/Newtown Bogroad – Newtown Saunders/Slaney Park/Holden Town/Kilmurray – Brockna/Talbetstown – Tynock – Fort Granite Tynock – Killalish – Tinaclash.

Flower planting

Much litter was collected together with the planting of flowers and the cutting back of hedgerows. Anti-dumping and PURE Mile signs were erected to encourage the local community and visitors alike to keep their areas litter free. A community BBQ was held to help people from the various miles to meet up and chat about their campaign.
