Derralossary Lane- Oldtown

‘Doire Iasrach’ translates as the oak grove of the flame, and this mile along Derralossary Lane to Oldtown and the Vartry pub in Roundwood is steeped in history, culture, nature and features of interest including connections to the following Robert Barton, Erskine Childers, Sean T O Kelly, Laurence Sterne, JM Synge, Joseph Holt, Bulaun Stones, A Charter School, An old road, the TV Series ‘Braken’, Red Kites, bats and woodpeckers... this mile is something very special.
