A New Outdoor Recreation Strategy For Wicklow

The County Wicklow Outdoor Recreation Committee developed the first County Wicklow Outdoor Recreation Strategy in 2009 which had a very positive impact on the development and management of outdoor recreation in the county.  We now welcome your feedback to inform the development of the County Wicklow Outdoor Recreation Strategy 2019 to 2024.  This strategy will identify the development challenges, opportunities and priorities  for outdoor recreation in the county and we need your thoughts if we are to get the full picture.

Outdoor recreation activities include a wide range of sports such as cycling (on or off-road), canoeing, sailing, hillwalking, hunting, aeromodelling, open water swimming and many others.

  • If you live in County Wicklow, regardless if you take part in outdoor recreation or not, we appreciate your comments in the ‘County Wicklow Residents’ questionnaire at the following link:    https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZKWQCRL

  • If you are someone that takes part in outdoor recreation in County Wicklow but are resident elsewhere, please complete the ‘Non-resident’ questionnaire at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZKMPT6L
  • If you are someone who provides commercial services in County Wicklow which are directly or indirectly (accommodation, dining etc.), linked to outdoor recreation activities (cycling, canoeing, sailing, hillwalking, hunting and others)  we need your perspective.  Please complete the short ‘Providers’ questionnaire at the following link  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZKG9C8F

The questionnaires must be completed by Wednesday 27th of March.  However it only takes a few minutes so why not do it now.

This initiative is being undertaken by the Wicklow Outdoor Recreation Committee (WORC), comprised of representatives from key outdoor recreation stakeholders in  County Wicklow.  For further details, please contact CWP’s Rural Recreation Officer, Bryan Fennell via email bfennell@wicklowpartnership.ie
