'Autumn through Local Eyes'

The Roundwood and District Community Council organised their fourth very successful beginners Digital Camera Course last Autumn which was subsidised through the Kildare Wicklow Education Training Board – Community Education Programme.

The course programme was delivered by David Stephenson, who specialises as a tutor of photography to community and voluntary groups, as well as having worked all over the world as a documentary photographer for twenty years. No specialist cameras were required for this course. Cameras of all shapes, sizes and complexities were used by participants who eagerly found out what all those extra buttons were for! The outdoor sessions brought the participant’s attention to the wonderful scenery and natural world of Roundwood. This was followed by portrait sessions of local residents and visitors as they went about their business in the village of a Saturday morning.

Some excellent examples of the group’s new found skills will be on display in Roundwood Parish Hall and Centre on Friday the 4th of April at 7:30pm with the official launch of the Autumn through Local Eyes Photography Exhibition. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. Should you miss the official launch; the display will be open for viewing on Saturday the 5th of April from 3pm to 8pm and Sunday the 6th of August from 12 noon to 5pm. All welcome.
