Greystones Archeaological & Historical Society

Greystones Archaeological & Historical Society’s next talk on Thursday 16th February 2017 will be given by Brendan Flynn on the topic of “Divided Nationalism – Wicklow and The Great War.”

Ireland has just finished a year-long celebration of the centenary of the Easter Rising of 1916. This celebration became so popular that by the end of the year many people believed that what happened in Dublin in 1916 was a popular Irish revolt against British rule. This talk examines the correctness of this assumption, using facts and figures that apply to County Wicklow. The results are very surprising.

This talk will take place in the Family Centre, Holy Rosary Church, Greystones at 8pm. There will be a €2 charge to cover costs and all are very welcome.
