This photo was taken outside Hopkins in 1911 – nearly 85 years after the family business was established. We first opened as Wicklow Town’s premier general merchant. Over the years, we have adapted and diversified in line with our customers needs. Our records illustrate how Charles Stewart Parnell shopped in Hopkins for sand & animal feed – now people browse through our Arts & Crafts, Household, Stationery & Toy Departments.
Join us on Saturday the 8th of July 2017 for our Anniversary Party to celebrate 190 years in business.

Thanks for that information Sean, it is always great to be able to put names to old photographs.

The man standing at the wall is the late Jim Giff’s father who was a coachman in Walpoles.I was told this some years ago.
Jim was a local elected member of both councils in Wicklow at one time as well as a self employed cobbler in the town.
