Kilmacanogue History Talk - 13th January
KILMACANOGUE HISTORY SOCIETY
Glenview Hotel – 13th January 2015
Wicklow Birds – part of our natural heritage
Eric Dempsey
In this visually stunning presentation Eric will focus on birds which can be found in County Wicklow, both native and migratory. He will describe their different habitats, their breeding seasons and migrating movements, and their struggle to survive our harsh winters.
He will also tell us of some breeds which have become either less or more common in Wicklow over the past number of years, and offer some reasons for these changing patterns.
Eric Dempsey is a full-time writer, broadcaster, speaker and wildlife photographer, and a longtime member of the RTE Mooney Goes Wild team. He is the author of several books on Irish birdlife, including The Complete Field Guide to Ireland’s Birds, and some of these books will be available for purchase on the night.
This meeting promises to be an uplifting start to a further season of great presentations to our Society – come and join us!
