The National Museum of Ireland - half a century of reminiscences!

As Director Emeritus of the National Museum of Ireland, Dr Wallace will describe the important role the Museum fills in our society. He will share his unique experience of the life of the Museum over half a century and the ambitions for the future.
Dr Pat Wallace is the well known archaeologist of Urban Wood Quay, Dublin, in respect of which his major work, Viking Dublin: the Wood Quay excavations, has recently been published.
He has popularised archaeology both at home and abroad over the years on radio, television and elsewhere, and enthuses about the sense of place and history in our lives. He has received many awards for his work, including being honoured by Her Majesty, the Queen of Denmark. He is a member of the Royal Irish Academy, and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
