Our Wicklow Heritage Official Launch !

Following a year plus of ‘development’ we here at Our Wicklow Heritage have decided to have an official launch of this site

The celebration will take place as part of Heritage Week 2014 and we would like to extend an open invitation for you to join us in Tinahely Courthouse Art Centre on Sunday 24th August @ 7.00 pm where an Cathaoirleach Cllr Christopher Fox will do the honours.

‘Our Wicklow Heritage’ is an online community heritage archive for county Wicklow, one of a growing network of such community archives in the country, and significantly is the FIRST county community heritage archive in Ireland! We are a member of ICAN, the Irish Community Archive Network co-odinated by the National Museum of Ireland.

The archive is an initiative of the Wicklow Heritage Forum as an action of the County Wicklow Heritage Plan and is co-ordinated by the Heritage Office in association with the council’s library, archives and genealogy services. It is an open access website resource meaning that anyone with an interest in the heritage of county Wicklow, no matter where they are in the world, can read articles and share their stories and photos.
