'Stories of The River Liffey' Evening

River Liffey
Abarta Heritage

For thousands of years the River Liffey has shaped the lives of the generations who have lived along its banks, and Abarta Heritage, working with the Heritage Office of Wicklow County Council, would love to find out about your local stories relating to life along the banks of the river.

An information evening is being held at 7.00pm on Tuesday 11th October at St. Kevin’s Community Centre in Blessington to share stories as part of the River Liffey Heritage Project.

This project aims to record local stories relating to folklore, archaeology, wildlife, history, traditions and songs so that a digital database, which will preserve the stories for future generations, can be created. All are welcome to share their stories and hear about what life was like in the past.

The River Liffey Heritage Project is an action of the County Heritage Plan, supported by the local authorities of Wicklow, Kildare, South County Dublin, Fingal and Dublin City and the Heritage Council. For more information contact Deirdre Burns, Heritage Officer T: 0404 20100 dburns@wicklowcoco.ie
