Woodland Wildlife Walk at NWT Blessington

Would you like to learn a little bit more about the wildlife found in the woodlands of Ireland? If so then come along to the Native Woodland Trust nature walk on 15th February at the NWT Blessington Reserve.

The Native Woodland Trust is an environmental charity dedicated to the protection of Ireland’s rare native and ancient woodland. The Trust achieves this by setting up woodland reserves around the country, such as the Blessington reserve. This reserves network allows the Trust to protect existing woodland as well as plant new native woodland for the future. Part of the work we do involves running educational and fun events for our members and the public to encourage more people to use their local woodlands.

Our Blessington site is a great place to take a walk and look for signs of wildlife. Lots of species have been spotted in this area over the years. While this walk does not guarantee sightings of wildlife we will look for signs of their presence and explore the different habitats found on our site.

The meeting point for this event will be at the ESB car park off the N81 just south of the reserve. For a map and further details please check our website www.nativewoodlandtrust.ie or the events section of our Facebook page. All are welcome. The event is free for members with a suggested donation of €4 for non-members. This event is weather dependent.

For more details please contact Rebecca at rebecca.doyle@nativewoodlandtrust.ie or on 087 9619083.
