Carnew: A Town of History & Heritage

On August 17th and 18th as part of Heritage Week 2013 the exhibition Carnew: A Town of History & Heritage was held in Coláiste Bhríde Carnew.

Much of the information on display in this exhibition was gathered from interviews with local people and the contribution of photographs and historical articles from numerous contributors.

The aim of the exhibition was to inform people of the rich and varied history and heritage of Carnew. The exhibition covered topics such as 1798, Carnew Castle, Landlord Influence, Sport & Recreation, Trades and Occupations.

The exhibition over the two days was attended by over 400 people and also ran in Coolattin House as part of the events for Canada Come Home.
