Search for William Archer's sampling locations

Interested in the distribution of small green algae, the desmids, I am looking for a sampling locality, mentioned by Wm. Archer, probably a Dubliner, who gained some reputation in the Dublin Microscopical Society. I am not sure, whether the locality ( Featherbed Mountain, large pool near the Old Gable) really existed or still exists in the Wicklow Mountains, it might also be a different place near Dublin. Can anyone, concerned with local history, perhaps  help me?
