Structures At Risk Fund

Wicklow County Council wishes to invite applications under the Structures at Risk Fund, as operated by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht (DAHG)

The fund is intended to assist with works to safeguard structures into the future that are protected structures under the Planning and Development Acts and, in certain cases, works to structures within Architectural Conservation Areas where, in the opinion of the Department, an urgent need for works to such structures has arisen and has been demonstrated.

Only structures in immediate danger of significant deterioration will qualify for consideration for funding by the Department. The SRF is not intended to assist in the carrying out of routine maintenance, alterations or improvements.

Due to the limited capital resources available for the operation of the SRF in 2015, DAHG will consider no more than 2 applications per local authority (LA), only 1 of which may be a publicly-owned building.  The total value of funding available for each individual project shall not exceed 80% of the total project cost.  The minimum level of funding available to each successful project under the SRF will be €15,000 up to a maximum grant of €60,000

Applicants should read SRF 2015 guidelines available with the application form on  and be familiar with the qualifying criteria and conditions of the scheme.

All grant applications must be supported by a Method Statement which must describe the condition of the structure and give details of how conservation/repair works will be carried out.  This document does not need to be unduly long but it must be appropriate to the nature and scale of the proposed works.  It should not exceed TEN A4 pages.

All applicants will be assessed on the following four criteria; Significance of Structure; Urgency of Works ; Quality of Method Statement; Efficacy of Works.

All applicants must complete Form -A Section-One and return it along with a method statement to: e-mail
