Whitefield Graveyard Conservation Plan CMF 2021
In 2021 a multidisciplinary team prepared a conservation plan for Whitefield Graveyard to uncover it from years of neglect. The graveyard was cleared under the archaeological supervision of Yvonne Whitty Licenced Archaeologist and by the Tinahely CE scheme. Recording of headstones was undertaken by Jack Lynch and Triona Dormer. We are glad to say that thanks to CMF funding in 2022 we are carrying out works detailed in the conservation plan which you can read below, including rebuilding the stone wall, repairing the entrance gate etc. We will keep you updated!
Whitefield Graveyard is one of the Wicklow projects to receive funding support from the Community Monuments Fund 2021(Ref: CMF21-2-WI003) .
