The Wicklow Community Archaeology Service is a new initiative for County Wicklow, co-ordinated through the Heritage Office of Wicklow County Council and supported by The Heritage Council. The overall objective is to provide professional archaeological services to existing and new groups in the county to support and guide their efforts.
Yvonne Whitty has been engaged as community archaeologist and is currently working accross the county to stimulate the development of community initiatives such as heritage and graveyard trails and provide advice on the management and conservation of archaeological monuments in public and private ownership by local communities.
