Michael Giffney (jnr) was a special guest at the launch of the Wicklow Centenary Commemoration Programme 1916-2016 in Oct 2015 where he was presented with his family history report by Catherine Wright, Wicklow County Council genealogist. It was while conducting a family history search on behalf of Michael in 2015, that Catherine became aware of his father’s connection with the Easter Rising 1916.
