St. Brigid's Day - Folklore & Traditions

St. Brigid’s Day is one of our most ancient Irish celebrations marking the change of the seasons and all the hope for renewal, propogation and fertility that this brings. Click on the image below to watch this short film by Jonny Dillon giving a brief outline of some of customs and traditions relating to the Feast of St. Brigid in Ireland. We would love to hear any stories that you have relating to how St Brigid’s Day was celebrated in your area. As it says in the film, why not speak to your parents or older people in your community about their experiences from childhood and share it on this suite so that we can capture it before it’s lost!
