Who we are?

This website was created by the Wicklow Heritage Forum in 2012 as an action of the County Wicklow Heritage Plan. The Forum is a group set up by Wicklow County Council to facilitate the delivery of the actions of the Heritage Plan with support from The Heritage Council and through the work of the county Heritage Officer, Deirdre Burns. We are one of a network of online community archives facilitated by The National Museum of Ireland - Country Life.

How it works?

The website is an online community heritage archive, set up to store and showcase Wicklow's rich natural, built and cultural heritage. This is an open access website, whereby anybody with an interest is encouraged to browse and to contribute.

On the left side you will find categories which will bring you to information on suggested themes. These will be expanded in due course and as required.

On your right you will find details on specific interest items. Again, these will be added to and expanded over the coming months and years.

Interested in becoming a contributor?

This is your community archive and we hope that you will share your information, stories and memories. Making a contribution is easy, and you don't even need to leave the comfort of your own computer to take part. Simply register as a user on the bottom left and follow the instructions to submit your articles, photos, stories and memories.

The Wicklow Heritage Forum maintains editorial control over the content on this site.
