Well done James! I love your drawing of the fly on the leaf, with lovely detail. I see your artistic ability and your love for nature. Fantastic job!
I was fascinated to read this – one of husband’s ancestors – Stephen Hyland was actually tortured by Hempenstall after the attack on the Charter School at Carbury in 1797.
I am a blow-in to Avoca and live on the main street in Avoca for just 13 years. Recently I have started to explore the areas history, which is fascinating. We live in the Old Post Office on the main street, beside the Church and across the road from the old Barracks, currently the Garda station. I am interested in any stories or photos about the main street and particularly The old Post office, any information that can be shared would be most appreciated.
