Covid 19 - A poem

Covid 19

(Air: Pub with no Beer)

Oh folks it’s so lonely, It doesn’t seem right

To sit in my armchair, For the rest of the night

The pubs are all closed, And who would e’er think

That we cannot go tonight , To the pub for a drink

So why do I sit here, By a fire that would melt

The experts they say, It’s to protect our health

This Covid 19, It would spread in a blink

So you cannot go tonight, To the pub for a drink

Now the medics are working, By day and by night

For to beat Covid Flu, Is a hell of a fight

So we must all help them, To make numbers shrink

So we cannot go tonight, To the pub for a drink

Oh I miss all my comrades, For the banter and crack

And hear about life, In a place called Kilmac

But we cannot take a chance now, Not even to think

Of going out tonight, To the pub for a drink

Now when this is over, And we all celebrate

Let’s think of the heroes, That all served us so great

And then in a moment, Just sit back and think

Sure we’ll all go tonight, To the pub for a drink
