Like many businesses in Wicklow, East Coast FM has adapted the way it works to keep both staff and guests safe.

East Coast FMs Morning Show with Declan Meehan is no different. Since early March, all guests have been over the phone and Declan has been presenting the show from his new studio at home.

Declan has also took on a second show on a Saturday Morning especially for those cocooning in Wicklow called The Covid Call.

While Declan is at home, producer Clare Hogan, gets guests ready and operates the desk. (So if you hear a strange sound during The Morning Show, you can blame Clare)

It’s a new way of working for the team who haven’t seen each other in almost 12 weeks. But the aim is the same ‘keep Wicklow connected’.

Producer Clare Hogan says, ‘we are so lucky to be able to work in such a great county. We have spoken to amazing people doing amazing things over the last number of weeks. From our mask making army’s to quirky fundraisers to back garden gigs, Wicklow has really kept busy.‘

It’s not been an easy 12 weeks, we had to postpone our annual East Coast FM Wicklow Wide Coffee Morning for the Cancer Support Throughout Wicklow and Wicklow Hospice. That was a hard decision, one which we were all really upset about in East Coast FM and we hope to hold a fundraiser soon. But hearing about our local hero’s, miracle COVID-19 recoveries and local initiatives like Sambos for Ambos has been great.

And if anyone would like to add to the show, you can always send us an email: morningshow@eastcoast.fm
