Bottlenose Dolphins Near Wicklow Town
R. Nairn
Here are some pictures of a pod of at least 12 Bottlenose Dolphins that accompanied Wicklow racing yachts off Wicklow Harbour for almost an hour yesterday Sunday 14/09/2014. This is an unusual sighting as Bottlenose Dolphins are scarce on the east coast (last sighting in Wicklow was in 2013). The same pod was recorded in Howth and Greystones on 13/09/2014 so they were probably moving south down the Irish Sea.
