‘Biodiversity begins with trees’

National Tree Week 2023, our annual celebration of trees takes place Sunday 19th to Sunday 26th March. The theme  this years is ‘Biodiversity begins with trees’ . There are many fabulous events taking place all over Ireland, including County Wicklow. Check out the programme at #NationalTreeWeek

Wicklow Town Library will host a very special event on Tuesday March 21st @ 7.00 pm where well known author, broadcaster and ecologist Anja Murray will give an illustrated presentation ‘ Ireland’s Generous Trees’ focussing on our native trees and the wonderful woodlands of County Wicklow, her home county. She will reveal the ecological history of trees in Wicklow; cultural uses and representation in folklore; and the many species of bees, hoverflies, butterflies, moths, bats, birds and mammals that depend on trees for their sustenance and survival.
This event will take place on Tuesday, March 21st, at 7 pm in Wicklow Town Library
