Greystones Archaeological & Historical Society’s next talk will be given on Thursday 16th February by Brendan Flynn on the topic of “Divided Nationalism – Wicklow and the Great War”.

Ireland has just finished a year-long celebration of the centenary of the Easter Rising of 1916. This celebration was so popular that by the end of the year many believed that what had happened in Dublin in 1916 was a popular Irish revolt against British rule. This talk examines the correctness of this assumption, using facts and figures that apply to County Wicklow. The results are very surprising.

This talk will take place in the Family Centre, Holy Rosary Church, Greystones at 8pm. There will be a charge of €2 to cover costs. All are very welcome.
