My Grandfather’s part in the Anglo-Irish Treaty
Professor Timothy Lynch
Professor Lynch’s grandfather was Fionán Lynch (1889–1966), Irish revolutionary, barrister, politician, and judge. He was a member of the Irish Team that went to London in 1921 to participate in negotiation of the Anglo-Irish Treaty. Prof Tim Lynch, will use a recorded interview, made by BBC, of his Grandfather’s experience of the Anglo-Irish negotiations. Therefore, in effect, there will be two speakers at our talk, ‘Fionán’ and Tim.
Imagine having the opportunity to hear the authentic voice of a member of the Anglo-Irish Treaty negotiation team being interviewed shortly after the event. It is hoped that Tim will also share some of his family’s reminiscences of the momentous event.
